Forklift Attachments Assure Damage Free Handling
Consumer electronics products like refrigerators, washing machines and dryers, televisions and computer screens pose a problem for forklift handling. A forklift not well operated can damage HDTV screens, white colored refrigerators and other appliances as well as other modern electronic products.

Kaup attachment features its Smart Load Control system.
Forklift attachment manufacturers have come up with ways to minimize damage to these products. Their attachments include sensors and lasers that are meant to permit exact handling.
Another forklift attachment manufacturer has come up with an alternative to deal with these issues.
Kaup has developed Smart Load Control (SLC). It doesn’t use lasers, sensors or any similar devices. Instead, the system’s operation is based on real weight detection. This assures flexible, damage free handling of light, fragile, large volume products.
The system assures that only as much clamping force acts on the transported product during the clamping/transportation process. SLC is designed only to provide the proper clamping force.
The system focuses on the weight of the product to be transported, not its dimensions or the nature of the load.
The system is manufactured to work exactly and respond quickly.
The attachments are designed so that there is no forklift hydraulic system intervention. SLC works completely independent and autonomous from the forklift truck. A power supply is required, but it is plug & play. There is complete autonomy from the truck.
The system also assures that the forklift operator cannot accidentally damage a product during handling. That’s because the system structure of the attachments prevents the driver from intervening during the clamping/transport process and also assures that he can’t clamp onto the product too tightly.
A Cost-Intensive Setup Is Not Required
As in the case of other sophisticated forklift attachments, some kind of lengthy, cost-intensive setup is required. With the Kaup SLC, such a setup is not required.

Another example of a Kaup forklift attachment with Smart Load Control.
Kaup has developed their SLC system into a combination of attachments. The settings are performed during manufacturing. All the warehouse needs to do is connect the attachment to the forklift.
The Kaup SLC system does not require separate testing devices. That’s because the clamp force measurement test fixtures required on other similar systems is not necessary here. The standard monitoring function of SLC automatically logs all data for each transport operation. A record of the clamping force used and all clamping and loading patterns can be read out at any time. With the use of a USB stick, documentation, processing and evaluation of data can be performed on a computer.
Full Benefits Of SLC Achieved With Kaup T414B Appliance Clamp
The full benefits of SLC are achieved with the Kaup T414B Appliance Clamp. This clamp has a plethora of innovations not found on other attachments. For example, to achieve more stability, the connection between the pressure frame and sliding carriage has been modified. Moreover, the pressure frame has been redesigned into a modular form. This makes it more compact and it features fewer individual parts. The pressure plates include a new grooved profile rubber coating that is abrasion-resistant. The coating allows the clamping pressure to be reduced as much as 30 percent.
