This Year’s Talent In Logistics Forklift Contest Will Be Virtual
No thanks to the Coronavirus Pandemic, which is wrecking havoc to all plans whether it’s business or social, this year’s Talent in Logistics Award for Forklift Operator of the Year will be unveiled through a series of virtual competition finals. The event will be held in September.
Normally, a live event, the forklift contest will be filmed. The video will then be made available on YouTube and other social media sites for viewing.
The new procedure is meant to assure that people who participated in the competition will social distance and perform in a safe environment.
Anyone who has attended the Operator of the Year forklift contest would know that it is notorious and is somewhat of a spectacle. The competition is always a pleasure to watch year after year.
This year’s event was previously planned to be a series of regional heats during the summer, this year the entire event will be held in Telford, UK on September 9-11.
Competitors Invited To Participate In Forklift Contest
The top 30 competitors from the earlier online testing stage have been invited to participate and will be required to finish four different tests in order to show their level of forklift operation expertise.
The theme of the tests will be based on the Olympics. There will be events inspired by basketball, weightlifting, show jumping, and golf competitions. Competitors will be required to participate in three practical tests, one of which will include operating a forklift with attachments and a classroom test of knowledge.
Finalists will operate UniCarriers TX3 electric counter balance forklifts. The overall winner will be announced at the online Talent in Logistics Awards the night of October 1, 2020.
