Crown Introduces Mini Forklift
Crown Equipment Corporation, with North American headquarters located in New Bremen, Ohio, has unveiled a “small footprint” LPG forklift.
Dubbed the C-G series, the Crown forklifts are constructed to maneuver in limited floor space and provide extra room for forklift operators to more safely drive the machine.
Features Of The Crown Forklift
The chassis of the Crown C-G is 5-inches to 6-inches wide, which is narrower than the chassis of a typical 4,000 to 7,000 lb. forklift, so that it can maneuver through tight rack storage aisles. The units are supposed to be ideal for warehouses that block stack. The forklift is also well suited for tight manufacturing areas and for small businesses that have limited space.

Crown releases “small footprint” forklift.
The new forklift is available with 3,300, 3,500 and 4,000-lb capacity and includes a choice of masts and a range of lift heights from 78-inches to 236-inches.
Despite its overall size, the driver’s compartment includes spacious floorboard and strategic pedal placement that permits the driver to easily pivot their feet from accelerator to brake and to the inching pedal
The lift includes an electronic switch parking brake rather then a parking brake handle that provides more space for the operator. Entry and exit from the machine is said to be easy because of a low step height, grab bar, extra headroom and sculpted seat deck.
A 4-cylinder 21 LP engine power the lift and it also includes a power shift transmission. The engine generates 40.6-horsepower and includes a selectable economy mode and top speed control.
An optional heavy-duty cooling package is available to assure that the Crown lift can handle heavy-use applications and for operation in high temperatures.
Other features include a tilting and telescoping steering column, standard adjustable suspension seat, USB ports to accommodate laptop computers, a standard reverse travel handle, and horn button that adds safety when the lift is reversing with a load and allows the driver to keep his hands inside the cabin of the forklift.
The lift also features a heavy cast iron steer axle and powertrain that’s tough enough for carrying products outdoors between plants, over concrete and black top surfaces. Several tire options are available.
Oil-Cooled Disc Brakes
The lift’s oil-cooled disc brakes are covered by a five-year/10,000-hour warranty and are sealed to keep out dirt and contamination to minimize maintenance. The brakes are kept cool because they are always submerged in an oil bath, which also provides consistent pedal pressure, which ensures longer-lasting brakes and allows the driver to apply less force on the brakes.
The lift also includes an electronic air filter reminder indicator on the dash to warn when the air filter is clogged and needs to be replaced.
Finally, the forklift is designed to permit easy access for routine maintenance checks including fluid check and replacement of parts.
