Linde Introduces Three New Trucks featuring Lithium-Ion Batteries
Linde, Material Handling, manufacturer of forklift trucks and warehouse equipment with offices worldwide and production and assembly plants in Germany, France, the Czech Republic, the United States, and China, has released three new counterbalance trucks featuring 90-volt lithium-ion batteries.
Designated E20, E25, and E30, the new trucks have load capacities of 2, 2.5, or 3 tons, respectively.
According to Stefan Prokosch, head of product management for Linde, customers who have been using the trucks have provided positive feedback saying that the technology is “reliable and extremely energy-efficient and it is very easy to handle.”
Better energy-efficiency is due to constant applied voltage that is up to 30% higher in net energy yield. Intermediate charging is possible at any time and the lithium-ion equipment eliminates the need for battery changes, servicing and maintenance measures.
Linde also offers a warranty for the lithium-ion batteries of eight years. Should a warranty claim occur within the first three years of ownership, the battery will be repaired or replaced free of charge. After that, the claim is handled depending on the battery’s age or number of full charge cycles.
The charger comes with a warranty of 24 months or 6,000 charging hours.
The intelligent set-up of the lithium cells offer “almost consistent voltage of 90 V, which reduces the thermal load on the vehicle components, even under heavy-duty performance. It also ensures more efficient energy utilization.
Two battery sizes are available –- 24.l kWh and 60.3 kWh.
