NFL Star Shows Team Pride with Forklift Paint Job

Charles WoodsonOakland Raiders free safety Charles Woodson has a reputation as one of the NFL’s most colorful characters.

Now the three-time All-Pro is showing his true colors by commissioning a special forklift at his Napa Valley winery that features the Raider’s signature silver and black.

In a recent Tweet, Woodson posted a photo of himself riding on the customized Raiders forklift.

Promoting Winery

Along with the photo, Woodson Tweeted, “Bottling our 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Today!”, a reference to his side job as a winery owner.

When he’s not providing pass protection for the Raiders, the former Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49er’s star runs a small boutique winery in Napa, California. He partnered with famed winemaker Robert Mondavi and wine master Rick Ruiz to develop his own signature wine label, “Twentyfour by Charles Woodson”.

Former Green Bay Packer Loves Wine

The name of the wine refers to Woodson’s jersey number. The winery produces fewer than 1,000 cases of the varietals Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc per year, which is relatively small for a winemaker. Although the wine bottles feature Woodson’s name and signature, the popular football player has been warned by the NFL not to be seen endorsing the wine personally because of the league’s alcohol policy.

It’s not clear what the league’s position is on forklifts.
