Video of the Week: Forklift vs Alligator
They say everything is bigger in Texas. And when it comes to an 800-pound, 12-foot alligator named “Godzilla” that was found behind a suburban Houston strip mall, that was certainly the case.
Police and an animal control expert from the Texas Department of Wildlife eventually were able to wrangle the 50-year-old, one-eyed alligator before using ropes and scarves — and at one point riding on its back — before using a forklift borrowed from a nearby Home Depot to transport the reptile to the back of a waiting pickup truck.
The alligator was taken to a nearby animal sanctuary where it is expected to live out its remaining days in comfort.
